Read on for the most recent information about the 2021 AP testing dates and times.

The AP® Exams for the 2020-21 school year will take place in three different administrations. Administration 1 will begin on May 3rd and end on May 17th, 2021. Administration 2 will begin on May 18th and end on May 28th. Administration 3 will begin on June 1st and end on June 11th.

No exams will take place on Thursday, May 13th in recognition of the holiday of Eid.

Where will I take my AP® Exam?

All paper-and-pencil exams will be administered in person, at students’ schools or designated testing centers. Digital exams can be taken at home, or at school.

When will I take my AP® Exam?

For all traditional, in-person paper-and-pencil exams, each subject’s exam will occur at a set local time, so some students taking the same exam may not take them simultaneously. For example, while a student who lives on the east coast will take her paper-and-pencil AP U.S. History Exam at 8:00 AM EDT, a student who lives on the west coast would take his AP U.S. History Exam at 8:00 AM PDT, three hours later.

The same, however, does not apply to the digital exams. If you are taking a digital exam, you will have to take it at the same time as everyone else taking that exam, worldwide. So, a student taking the digital AP European History Exam in Administration 2 would start her exam at 12 PM local time, and a student in Singapore would take the exam at 1 AM local time.

The dates and times of the 2021 AP® Exams in each testing administration are shown in the tables below.
