At Marco Learning, we are dedicated to improving all aspects of our scoring and feedback services for the 2024-2025 school year. Here are some of the key upgrades we are making to provide a more effective and secure experience:
1. Recruiting Experienced Graders
We have recruited a select group of highly experienced graders to lead our scoring efforts. Each grader has been vetted for their extensive background, demonstrated accuracy, and consistent ability to provide constructive feedback. This team will ensure that scoring and feedback consistently meet high standards. When possible, we will work to assign one grader to multiple sections for the same teacher. While this is not feasible 100% of the time, we will prioritize consistency across class sections as often as possible.
2. Enhanced Training and Calibration
Our graders now receive additional training to further refine their skills and ensure alignment with grading rubrics. This year, we are implementing regular calibration activities to maintain consistency in applying scoring guidelines, which will enhance both accuracy and fairness in our feedback.
3. Improved Data Security
Protecting student information is our highest priority. We have partnered with Drata, a leading compliance and security platform, to strengthen our data protection measures and ensure we meet the highest standards for protecting data security. Drata’s continuous monitoring and automation tools help us safeguard student data, providing both educators and students with confidence that their data is fully protected. We are currently working toward achieving SOC 2 compliance, one of the highest possible security certifications.
4. Integration of Secure AI Tools
We are incorporating a secure, research-backed AI tool into our scoring process to support our graders. This AI tool will help with calibration and quality control to ensure consistent alignment with rubrics. While all assignments will still be graded by human graders, the AI will enhance our accuracy and calibration.
